a woman on the run.

This weekend started my gigantic trip up and down the east coast.
Saturday afternoon I headed to my boyfriends house in Oxford/New London, Pa. I can't just say Oxford (which is what's on the mailing address) because New London is where Will always grew up so he always corrects me.
He came home for the weekend to buy a suit for some mock interviews and events coming up since he's a senior in college now! Soon he will be a busy business man. After we left the West Chester area, we headed to Lancaster to swing by to Wills moms house for some food she made for Will to bring back to school! It was Chicken Caserole and it was DEEEELISH. Paired with a nice glass of wine. She suggested white wine which I prefer but Will had previously bought a bottle of Yellow Tail Shiraz so I just had to deal with it :)
But before we could eat it we had a nice long drive to IUP! Of course, if i had it my way I would be here forever with Will but I'm only here for a short visit until I head to Ohio on Tuesday and then to North Carolina for my friend Tammys sisters wedding! I get the honor of watching her daughter Annabelle during the reception!
So back to the wine, I had just three quarters of a glass with dinner and I was ready for a nap. Of course all of the driving today didn't help!

When I got to IUP it was chilly. The sun had been beating on me while I was driving but once I got out of the car and up into Wills room. BRRRRR! So we got the heavier comforter out and in the wash and dryer and a space heater on immediately and now it's a nice cozy room!
All I was missing was a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks.
Boy do I love Autumn.

Oh, Hey. I am alive!

So I guess to follow up on my last post which was like months and months and months ago (hahaha) I'd like to mention that I already want a new camera.
Yes I loved my new Fujifilm Finepix Z30, but I was wrong. The pictures come out sooo grainy online and there is no fix! I hear that printed out they aren't grainy but the sole use of the camera is to take pictures for my ONLINE shop and for candids of my friends and I for my facebook which is ONLINE!
Hopefully I'll be able to sell it and put that money towards the new Sony TX7 Cyber Shot.

Now as for who I featured in my last blog.
I wish to take back what I said.
We went ahead with a trade, for me to make a mothers day anklet for her mother and she was going to make me business cards. I never got my end of the deal and shortly after, her shop shut down and after our final review of the cards, she was never heard from again.
I clearly have no clue what went on on her side of things but I'll leave it open for your own judgement and opinions.

I hope none of my fellow Estians have to deal with sellers or buyers like this.

As we speak I'm laying in my boyfriends bed, wishing I had all of my crafting supplies here because I've done enough pouncing these past 2 weeks that I should start getting paid for my time doing it! It's sickly addicting and now all I want to do is create things.
Quit my job and just work solely on my online shops.

I recently got REAL business cards from a REAL business online that didn't scam me for a Swarovski Crystal anklet for its mother, and my Mom will for sure be passing those around and hopefully business will pick up.
I also would like to start going to craft shows and fairs.
But I'm skeptical to the old saying "you need money to make money", it's so true.
Can I get a lottery win or something.

Ugh, It's time to go shopping.

whilst striving for Etsy success....

I recently got my new camera! YAY ME!
Thanks to my boyfriends Father and Step Mom and a little extra help from Will himself to pay for a safety case and shipping!
I absolutely love the camera. I was thinking of going for a bright color but settled on black because black never gets old and they didn't have my favorite color. (Yellow :P)
So with my new camera I'm able to list my work on Etsy again! I got 6 new items up for the first time since September! Yes I know, I was in a 6 month slump but I'm out of that slump and I'm excited to make new items and post them whenever I want now that I can!

~ Currently I'm making a custom Mothers Day bracelet for CrikkiCrafts!
You can find a link to her shop here ----> www.crikkicrafts.etsy.com
Nikki does ALL sorts of things, from business cards to t-shirts to address labels and even blanket supplies! All for reasonable prices! She is such a doll and very easy and fun to work with!
I must have spent 3 hours online having a blast with her yesterday!
But don't get me wrong. She's 23 with a husband and 2 kids who keep her busy too, all while battling Cervical Cancer since the young age of 14.
Not only does the money you spend in her shop help her out but half of her earnings get donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Talk about inspiration!

My whole point to this post was, that in the middle of trying to establish myself as a jeweler on Etsy, I have met some amazing people with some great stories that inspire you to cherish what you have and keep striving for your dreams!
It makes being a part of Etsy so beautiful. I love supporting the hand-made. It's just like mom and pop shops. You know these people PERSONALLY! You know where your hard earned cash is going.

Etsy Chat is one of my favorite things to do. It's where I meet people like Nikki. It's where I trade and sell goods and services, and it's right where I want to be!

I'm definitely going to try to keep up with this blog more often, so I can feature more of my favorite sellers!
I PROMISE.
